Decorative Concrete
Decorative Concrete is a term used to describe concrete installations that are enhanced by adding color, textures, different finishing techniques or additional materials to standard concrete. These techniques allow us to install a project with the proven durability of concrete, but with greater visual appeal.
Stamped and Colored Concrete
This is one of the most popular techniques. Coloring agents and stamping tools are used to create the appearance of stone, brick, or tile in new concrete. A wide variety of color and pattern options allow us to create a unique installation for you.
Faux Brick Stenciled Concrete
This option uses stencils that resemble a particular brick pattern. We place a stencil onto newly placed concrete and then apply a colored hardening agent over it to create a pattern. This technique allows for easy color changes within the same project.
Acid Stained Concrete
This process involves applying an acid-based liquid to hardened and cured new concrete installations. This method generally produces a mottled monotone appearance. It can be applied to existing older concrete, but best results are achieved with newly- placed concrete.
Colored Concrete
Coloring agents are added to standard concrete to offer you a wide variety of options while employing a standard finish.
Exposed Aggregate Concrete
Small colored stones are placed on and troweled into the surface of newly-placed concrete. We then apply a chemical agent to keep the surface from fully hardening. After sufficient cure time (generally overnight), we wash away the chemical agent to reveal the colored stone. This produces a unique surface and appearance.
Concrete with Stone Inlays
By creating recessed areas during the forming process, we are able to install new concrete and then follow up with stone borders or patterns that are mortared into the project.
Maintenance and Repair
We can clean and re-seal existing decorative projects to give them a like-new appearance even if they were installed by someone else. In some cases we can repair certain chipped or damaged areas.
All of these decorative concrete techniques are appropriate for driveways, patios, pool decks, service walks and steps. They can also be used in combination with standard concrete. Contact us today.
